ALL SOULS’ ANGLICAN FOUNDATION PERPETUATES AND EXPANDS TRADITIONAL ANGLICAN WORSHIP.

PRAYER SHAPES OUR LIVES

It’s easy to see that the things we believe shape the way we pray and worship—but the opposite is also true. What we pray and how we worship shapes what we believe. When you get right down to it, the way we pray shapes even more than our beliefs: It shapes our lives. For hundreds of years, Anglicans have participated in—and been shaped by—a shared liturgy, passing it forward from one generation to the next through The Book of Common Prayer. As we participate in traditional Common Prayer, we join with Christians of the past in shared practice and belief. And as long as we do so, this living faith of the dead continues to express itself in the practice of the living.

PROTECTING OUR PRAYERS

But what happens when The Book of Common Prayer is no longer common? With good intentions, some have endeavored to update this tried and true text, attempting to modernize it, to make it relevant to our time. In doing so, they’ve changed not only mere words but the very meaning those words were meant to express and teach. The Anglican Foundation believes that Anglicans must rediscover the wealth of traditional Anglican worship and the theology expressed in Common Prayer.
